Where to get a free-e-mail account
There are 3 kinds of free e-mail accounts:
New: Free statistics for your site!
|
|
You can retrieve your e-mail in a regular
e-mail program. Ideal if you don't have an
e-mail account with an internet service provider.
The mail sent to this account will be forwarded
to your regular e-mail account. You can also
decide not to forward the mail and set up a second
e-mail program which only uses this account.
We also have a short listing of ethnic accounts
|
You can retrieve your mail on the web site
of the company offering this service.
The advantages of this system are:
- even if you don't have your own dial up account
but you'd like to have an e-mail address, you can
arrange one this way
- wherever you are
when you log in, you're able to
retrieve your mail without having to enter all your
POP, SMTP etc. info in an e-mail program.
The disadvantages: those pages are mostly slow and
you have to be online to read and respond to mail.

A new curiosity. The say that JohnDoe4097@mail.myisp.net becomes JohnDoe.
'No matter what ISP or e-mail service, that's all you'll need anywhere.'
This last sentence is not entirely true but hey, this might be a good idea!
Worst thing that can happen is that you'll have an @atless.net address.

iName
I've been using this service for
many years now, never had any problem!
Because iName has been around for a while now, they are running out of
fun addresses.
You'd probably better go to Altavista's free mail service
which they provide in collaboration with iName. Get an address like: @altavista.net, @iname.com, @cheerful.com, @cyberdude.com, @cybergal.com, @eathling.net, etc.
Read email online, forward messages, or use your email program -
they have 300 names to choose from.
|
SNAP! - email.com
Another iName service
Your address will be whatyouthinkof@email.com
Bigfoot (go to e-mail tools)
I have no idea about the quality of their service but Bigfoot also has been around for a while.
Netforward
Looks like a plain and clean forwarding service.
beer.com
Cool address for the beer lovers amongst us. @beer.com

Unfortunately some hotmail users are spammers, discrediting hotmail users on the internet.
Flairmail
They have 700 domains to choose from!
|
My own e-mail
About 200 domains to choose from!
Juno
Another popular one with over 5 million users.
